Project Overview

Oxford Science Park is currently home to more than 65 companies employing more than 2,400 people. The Magdalen Centre extension will provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with approximately 2,500m2 of contemporary office and laboratory accommodation, for which there is high demand in the City and across the County.  It is a key component of the growth and development plan for the Park –  which is owned by Magdalen College, Oxford – that the SME commercial eco-system can be expanded. The extension to the Magdalen Centre will create much-needed capacity, and construction is expected to commence in Q4 2018.

Brief scope of works

We are proud to have worked with Bogle Architects on this exciting office and laboratory development at Oxford Science Park. Sitting adjacent to the existing Magdalen Building, the shape of the site required innovative solutions to provide the necessary lettable floor space and access to the site. We were involved from the initial planning stages of the project, allowing means of escape solutions to be agreed, which included consideration of differing floor plate layouts to ensure that potential lettable areas were feasible and ensuring an efficient approach to the build and costings.
