Project Overview
Construction of two buildings incorporating a 7 story hotel, 8 storey student accommodation (575 bedrooms), commercial accommodation and retail/leisure units at ground and basement level, new basement car park.
Brief scope of works
The project evolved during the initial stages and we were able to offer advice to the design team as the proposal was firmed up and review the proposals to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations as well as the end users aspirations.
Provided early involvement in the project to review and agree the initial enabling works and to ensure neighbouring properties maintained safe means of escape. We also had early consultation with the fire service to ensure they were fully aware of the proposals and design intent. Students were able to occupy the first phase of the development on time for the Autumn 2018 term and the hotel opened in time for Christmas. We worked with the contractor to ensure a safe occupation of the phased handovers was achieved.
