Project Overview

The Spark is a new £30m campus for Southampton Solent University, designed to be a semi-public learning centre to provide staff and students a dynamic new space in which to study, socialise and share new learning experiences.

Brief scope of works

The centrepiece of this stunning new building is the full height atrium and futuristic, multi-functional supported pod which hosts a full size lecture theatre and viewing platform with fantastic views. Being involved at concept stage of this project allowed us to form an integral part of the design team and have a valuable input into the design at the earliest possible stage. This provided compliance and cost certainty as the proposals developed prior to the planning application. We also made essential contributions to value engineering meetings.
